PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
This training is designed for therapists, counsellors, psychologists, social workers, coaches, trauma-informed yoga teachers, health professionals, and others who wish to:
- Integrate IFS and Somatic Embodiment into client sessions for more effective outcomes
- Develop a deeper understanding of their own internal system and body responses
- Embody Self-energy in ways that bring greater safety and presence to therapeutic work
- Learn practical tools to address protective reactions and prevent therapy impasses
- Support clients in processing trauma without retraumatising
You’re Already Doing So Much to Help Others — Yet Something Still Feels Missing
You know the theories, the models, and the tools. You’ve spent years supporting clients through their pain, trauma, and resilience. And yet, there are moments in session when something feels out of reach. A client shuts down, their protectors take over, or their body tells a story their words cannot yet find. Despite all your training, it can feel as though you are circling the wound but not reaching the heart of the healing.
You want to help your clients go deeper, but you also need a way to keep both of you safe, regulated, and connected in the process. IFS and Somatic Embodiment together offer that bridge. They invite you to move beyond technique, into presence. Beyond theory, into lived experience. Where both therapist and client can meet in compassion, and the work begins to flow again.
As Monica stated:“I went in to learn about IFS and came out a different person. Even with almost no prior experience, the training gave me the confidence to begin offering this beautiful method of healing.”

I’m Angela M. Carter, a therapist, supervisor, and trainer devoted to helping professionals bring depth, safety, and humanity back into their clinical work.
Over the past three decades, I’ve trained through the IFS Institute, the HeartMath Institute, and the Trauma Research Foundation amongst many other leading professional trining bodies. My practice blends Internal Family Systems, Somatic Embodiment, and heart-based coherence, approaches that integrate mind, body, and Self in the service of healing.
Through Concinnity®, I now share this integrated way of working wellness professionals who want to feel confident applying IFS in real sessions, not just as a theory, but as a living experience.
My role in this training is simple: to guide you with clarity, warmth, and compassion as you discover your own capacity to embody Self-leadership in every moment of your work.
“Angela brings a beautifully compassionate presence that affirms every part of who we are, both as therapists and as humans.”
— Jenny, Counsellor

The Transformation That Awaits You
Picture yourself sitting with a client, calm, centred, and fully present, even as strong emotions or protective parts arise. You begin to sense what is unfolding beneath the surface and can meet each part with compassion and curiosity. The room feels steady and connected. Sessions flow with clarity and ease because both you and your clients feel safe enough to explore what was once hidden, allowing the work to deepen in ways that feel gentle, authentic, and profoundly human.
Through this training, you will:
-
Apply IFS with calm confidence, learning to trust the process and guide clients safely through their inner systems.
-
Integrate somatic awareness and body-based safety so that healing becomes a lived, embodied experience rather than a cognitive goal.
-
Strengthen your ability to embody Self-energy, remaining grounded and regulated even in moments of emotional intensity.
-
Navigate protectors and exiles with compassion, supporting your clients without retraumatising them or yourself.
-
Cultivate the same compassion, curiosity, and calm within yourself that you hope to nurture in others.
“I went in to learn about IFS and came out a different person. Even with almost no prior experience, this training gave me the confidence to begin offering this beautiful method of healing.”
— Diana, Psychotherapist
The integration of IFS and Somatic Embodiment will not only change how you practise; it will transform how you experience yourself.
What’s Included in the Concinnity® IFS and Somatic Embodiment Training
This six-day live online training follows the rhythm of the Self-Led Recovery Pathway™. Angela M. Carter’s integrative model that weaves Internal Family Systems, nervous system healing, and trauma-informed practice.
Through each stage, you will experience the same process of recognition, safety, unbinding, integration, and expansion that underpins every client journey.

Recognition and Psychoeducation – Guided Learning and Theoretical Foundations
Every transformation begins with recognition.
In this first stage, you will learn directly from Angela M. Carter, an experienced IFS therapist, trauma therapist, and educator who brings warmth, clarity, and three decades of clinical wisdom to every session. Through guided teaching and demonstration, you’ll deepen your understanding of the IFS model and Somatic Embodiment, discovering how they combine to support deep, lasting change.

Safety and Stabilisation – Learning in Connection and Regulation
Healing unfolds in safety.
Our intimate cohort format of just twelve participants ensures that your learning experience feels contained, relational, and emotionally regulated. This safe container mirrors the therapeutic space you will later create for your clients, one grounded in curiosity, connection, and compassion.

Unbinding from Limiting Dynamics – Experiential Practice and Exploration
Transformation happens through experience.
In this stage, you’ll engage in live practice sessions through role rotation, guided demonstrations, and small-group work. You’ll explore being therapist, client, and observer, freeing yourself from self-doubt and perfectionism as you learn to trust the flow of IFS. This is where confidence begins to replace constraint, and your own internal system opens to curiosity and movement.

Self-Led Integration – Reflection, Feedback, and Embodiment
Integration is where theory becomes lived wisdom.
You will receive real-time supervision and personalised feedback throughout the training, ensuring that each insight is embodied rather than intellectualised.
Through consultation circles, you will reflect, share, and integrate what you’ve learned alongside peers, a practice that deepens both skill and Self-leadership.

Expansion and Relational Repair – Ongoing Growth and Professional Mastery
Healing and learning continue beyond the course.
Through ongoing IFS group consultation, you’ll stay connected to a community of practice that supports your continued development long after the training ends. This final stage represents expansion, the space where your work naturally ripples outward, strengthening the relational field between therapist, client, and Self.

The Vision of Success
When you complete the Concinnity® training, you will not only understand the IFS model, you will embody it.
You will know how to meet parts, in yourself and in your clients, with calm confidence and genuine compassion. You will be able to create safety in every session, respond to trauma responses with clarity, and guide transformation without losing connection to your own Self.
This is where knowledge becomes wisdom, where theory becomes embodied presence, and where your work begins to flow with greater ease and integrity.

A Space for Growth and Connection
Every participant brings their own unique wisdom, and together we create a learning environment that feels both professional and deeply human. The Concinnity® training is not only about gaining new skills, it’s about growing into the kind of presence that naturally supports healing, clarity, and connection.

I found the IFS model explained a lot of my own and clients' struggles. The course has given me tools to continue to expand my work and increased my capacity for self-compassion. Angela's facilitation was flawless and gentle and allowed me the space and safety to be vulnerable in the group. It was both a sacred and practical experience. Thank you Angela.
